PURPOSE AND IMPORTANCE OF PREVENTIVE CRIMINAL PROVISIONS UNDER THE PROTECTION AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE REPUBLIC OF SRPSKA

Summary

Penal provisions of the Law on Protection from domestic violence have so far not yielded significant results and contributed to reducing domestic violence. Fines were imposed in the minimum amount and prevention is almost non-existent. Changes in legislation and the introduction of a prison sentence preventive character is enhanced. However, even in this amendment the legislator acted selectively. Of all persons who are prescribed by special assistance and protection, criminal provisions posedbno allocated only children. It is necessary for all persons to which the law provides special protection and help prescribe a sentence in the case of violence against these categories. This will be a preventive effect and protect the category and achieved so far only prescribed by a special legal protection.
