THE INCOMPATIBILITY OF OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA FROM 2012

Summary

After the presidential election of 2012 in Serbia, it is again possible to actualize the issue of the constitutional principle of incompatibility of function of head of state, as the newly elected President of the Republic resigned as president of a political party, and also as a member in a same political party. Given the practical behavior of persons who served as president of Serbia since 1990 to 2012, the question of interpretation of constitutional norms on the incompatibility of office of the President of the Republic with other public functions, becomes open.
