SPECIFICITY OF THE ATHLETE'S EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP IN RELATION TO THE GENERAL EMPLOYMENT RELATIONSHIP REGIME
Summary
The employment relationship of athletes is a specific type of employment relationship that occurs in our legislation. The paper presents the characteristics of the working relationship of the athlete that sets him apart from others; special attention is paid to the important characteristics of the employment relationship of this type of activity. One of the characteristics is reflected in the exclusive conclusion of a fixed-term contract. Sports activity requires athletes to show their maximum physical performance through employment, which decreases over the years, which is one of the reasons for the existence of a fixed-term contract. The specificity of the athlete's employment is also reflected in the issue of earnings that are earned before the performance. Working hours, vacations and absences are adjusted to the regime of sports competitions and events. Unilateral termination of the contract, unlike other employment regimes for professional athletes, entails disciplinary sanctions and compensation. Voluntariness and exclusion of the public are also among the specifics of this type of employment.
